Cantina Ceresa was originally a monastery built between the 14th and 15th century. The Conti’s family owns a part of the building, including an ancient underground cellar with exposed stone walls, in which are preserved old tools dating back to 1800. The monks themselves used this portion of the building to lower the fermented wine through holes placed on the raised floor. In the beginning, the company had a zootechnical-wine-making orientation, in fact the cellar was originally a stable, and then, during in the years, the Conti’s have acquired new lands until they reached about 10 hectares with olive trees and vines of Trebbiano of Lugana, Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon.
